Although she wanted to build a career in music, she had to move toward journalism when her own community created obstacles on her path because she is a Dalit woman. She has worked as a program manager for a radio station. For a long time, she raised her voice against social ills through the radio. She lives in a family of four, including her husband, a son and a daughter. Her husband is a permanently appointed teacher at a government high school. Since an early age, Sanju received knowledge about caste and the Manusmriti from her parents, and now wants to understand in depth about why caste-based discrimination, exploitation and oppression occur. In her understanding, caste was created by Brahmins to make things easier for themselves by subjugating Dalits as lower castes. After further studies, she now believes that unless caste is annihilated from its very roots, it will keep rising up.

Sanju claims that she wants to continue writing and raising her voice against caste-based discrimination along with other social ills. She wants to continue applying herself to the process of learning and teaching about the intersection of caste, gender and sexuality. She will develop the skills needed to deeply understand and write about the Madheshi Dalit woman. She will also continue to be active in ensuring the rights of the Dalit women who are subjected to discrimination in the male- dominated society. She wants to make documentaries that bring out the social discrimination and other issues faced by Dalits
